Catch up with our team at the Axe Vale Show. Our Skill Centre tutor, international woodturner Jason Breach will be there turning some of his unique creations. Plus, the team from our Axminster store (manager Matthew Youngs, Jack Price and Dan Walsh) will demo new Japanese saws, the UJK Parf Guide System and dogs, the pocket-hole jig and small bandsaw.

Now in its 24th year, the Axe Vale Show is not just an event where there is something for everyone. It also raises money for local charities and gives back to the community. Beneficiaries have included local schools and pre-schools, scout groups, drama clubs, the Minster Church and many more deserving organisations.

Lots to do and see

Over the two days, there are many things to do and see at this family friendly event. Attractions include a craft tent, toys and hobbies, and art and antiques. Most of the stalls are small traders each offering products that cannot be found on the High Street. As a result, many items are made in part by hand, ensuring these are exclusive gifts and treasures to take home.

Again this year the organisers have arranged a busy and diverse programme in the two arenas. These range from falconry to gymnastics demonstrations, plus a dog show, sheep shearing and the amazing agility of llamas. And no event would be complete without live music from bands and musicians to help you relax and soak up the atmosphere.

Food glorious food

A visit to the Food Hall is an absolute must. Here you will find some of the area’s finest retailers of international foods and wines, together with pie makers and cider makers from across the south west. Food stuffs range from home-reared meats, gourmet fish products and organic veg to artisan cheeses, hand-roasted coffee and gluten-free cakes. All of which provide an irresistible combination of local produce and goods from around the globe. The Food Hall is a great place to stop, chat and indulge in some delicious offerings.
