On Tuesday 1 May Axminster held another successful golf day to help raise funds for The Furniture Makers’ Company.

Thirty-eight players travelled from as far as Stoke in the UK and Sweden to play at the prestigious Lyme Regis course on the south coast of Dorset. Lyme Regis Golf Club is one of the finest golf courses in the south west. After the tournament sandwiches and cake were served and a raffle held.

Competitors playing for The Furniture Makers’ Company were Paul von der Heyde, Graham Marley, Ben Burbidge and David Dewing.

Axminster players included MD Alan Styles, Andrew Cross, Charlie Cross, Michael Trimble and Laurie Forino. In addition, representatives from Tormek, Shesto, Bosch, Liberon and Sjobergs took part.

After Sales & Servicing manager Andrew Cross won the individual competition. Andrew received a unique turned bowl decorated using pyrography. Axminster Skill Centre staff had made the trophy especially for the event.


We’d like to thank our corporate member Axminster Tools & Machinery for continuing to organise this fantastic event that gets bigger and better every year. Supporter-led events such as these are vital to communicating the good work that the Company performs and strengthen the bonds of fellowship amongst industry colleagues.
