Using a Japanese dozuki or tenon saw with a bench hook to accurately cut off a length of wood can sometimes be tricky. As often as not the saw won’t align itself on the knife line resulting in a ‘skewed’ cut. Using a chisel, the video shows an easy way to enlarge the knife line cut on the waste side so that you saw spot on the line first time, every time.
